What you need to do after you've applied for a place.

Confirmation of your application

We will acknowledge receipt within 7 days of receiving your application.

Waiting lists

Details of your application for a secondary school are forwarded to each school named on your application, the school(s) will place your child on the waiting list. If a school has a vacancy and your child is at the top of their waiting list, the school will contact you to offer a place.

We do not manage waiting lists for secondary schools. Please contact the school directly with any questions.

You will remain on the waiting list until the end of the academic year. If you wish to be considered for the school after this point you must re-apply by completing a new in-year application using the online application portal.

If you are offered any of the preferred schools which you listed on your school application, you will not automatically be placed on the waiting list for any other preference school/schools listed.

To be added to the waiting list, you must re-apply using the online application portal. Your child will remain on the waiting list until the end of the academic year.

When you submit a new application, all previous preference schools will be overwritten. You must list all schools again in order of preference for each new application.

Children who are not attending school

If your child is currently out of education and you are unable to secure an offer of a school place at one of your preference schools, you must contact the Croydon School Admissions team to discuss alternative options.

Appeals

All Croydon schools are their own admission authority and therefore you must appeal directly to the school.
