What you need to do after you've applied for a place.
Accepting an offer
You will receive your school place offer by email on the evening of 1 March 2021.
You must accept or decline your offer by 15 March 2021.
To respond to your offer you will need to log into your eAdmissions account – so keep your login information safe.
If a school gets more applications than it has places, it will keep a waiting list until at least 31 December 2021. The order pupils get added to the list will be based on the school's admissions criteria
Your child’s name will automatically be placed on the waiting list for any school which was a higher preference on your application form than the school you have been offered.
You must tell us if you do not want your child to be on the waiting for a higher preference school. If a place becomes available at one of your higher preference schools, the place offered at your lower preference school will automatically be withdrawn.
If you need to find out your child’s position on the waiting list, please contact the admission authority for the school or the borough in which the school is situated after 19 April 2021.
Changing your preference
If you get offered a place at the school that was your first preference, you can only change your preference and be added to the waiting list for lower preference schools in exceptional circumstances.
Any change in circumstances will need to be supported with relevant evidence. All requests to be added to a waiting list should be made in writing to the School Admissions team.
COVID-19 and admissions testing
Many schools which test for a child’s ability or aptitude have decided to postpone admission tests until later in the autumn 2020 term, due to COVID-19 restrictions. Revised test dates will be confirmed early in the autumn term by the schools directly.
Despite these changes, you must still register your child for tests by published deadlines and submit your online application form by 31 October 2020.
You may make changes to your application preferences, such as add or remove a selective school, once you receive the results of the test, providing you email the School Admissions team by 10 December 2020. We will also accept changes to preference relating to late test results for selective schools in other local authority areas.
Changes after 10 December 2020
Changes to preference after this date will only be considered after places are offered on 1 March 2021.
Non Croydon residents
If you do not live in Croydon, please contact your home local authority for their policy on making changes to a school admission application.
If you have questions about test arrangements, please check the relevant schools’ websites, or contact the school directly.
All Croydon schools are their own admission authority and therefore you must appeal directly to the school.

If you would like more information about the reason why your child was not offered a place at a higher preference school, contact the admission authority that is responsible for the school.
If the school is outside this borough, the admission authority will be either the local authority in which the school is situated or the school itself. Details on admission authorities outside of Croydon are included in pages 24 and 25 of the prospectus.
